Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte parted ways on Sunday evening.
The veteran coach arrived in north London 16 months ago and he enjoyed a successful debut campaign, securing UEFA Champions League qualification ahead of local rivals Arsenal. However, things had turned sour in recent times.
Following a 3-3 draw against Southampton earlier this month, Conte delivered an emotional rant on his players. The Italian claimed that they didn’t like playing under pressure whilst also criticising the lack of trophies won under Daniel Levy’s stewardship.

Eventually, it was clear that a change was needed and on Sunday night, Spurs announced that the former Chelsea boss would leave the Lilywhites by mutual consent. Conte's assistant coach Cristian Stellini will take over the managerial reigns for the remainder of the season, with Ryan Mason appointed his No.2.
"We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place," Levy said. "We all need to pull together.
"Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our club and amazing, loyal supporters." The decision was met with a mixed response from the Tottenham faithful, with many fans urging the club to replace Conte with German coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Here is what a select few on Twitter said.
@WawyGH: "Sad to see Conte go. I was so excited when he joined and really thought we would push on. Ultimately it went the way everyone predicted, we need to push on now and get behind the next manager."
@GuyImprov: "And good riddance!"
@Erenndogann1: "NAGELSMANN NOW!!!!!"
@SammyBoy23: "Thanks for last season Antonio but time to move on now."
@The82Club: "Thank you Antonio Your passion was infectious and we know you gave it your best All the best in the future!"
@ctsmclovinya: "This screams Nagelsmann. Thanks for the highs from last season, Antonio. That 3-0 drubbing of Woolwich will never be forgotten. You did your best with our scraps from five years ago. All the best."
@thfcmxtt: "GET NAGELSMANN IN."
