Naga Munchetty has been praised by fans for her classy response to a hateful Twitter troll.
The 47-year-old was targeted by a follower by the name of Sally, who was seemingly angered by Naga’s appearance on BBC Breakfast on Friday morning.
Convinced Naga was interviewing Conserative transport minister Grant Shapps, Sally took to Twitter to vent her frustration over the questioning.
“Just had to turn @TVNaga01 off again ,interviewing Grant shappes, then starts the normal childish na,na,na,na let’s blame you ,so tiresome,” she wrote.
However, Naga was absent from Friday’s edition of BBC Breakfast, and enjoying a well-deserved day off - with Victoria Derbyshire stepping in to replace her.
The presenter reached out to Sally with a dignified response, as she politely asked her to bring some kindness into her life.
“Sally I'm not at work today. Maybe you should turn off your default setting of hate instead? Have a lovely day,” Naga replied.
Her 267,000 followers were impressed with her takedown of the Twitter troll, with many leaving comments on the post.
“The haters will always hate Naga. Enjoy your day off. Hope your out on the golf course,” one wrote. .
“What an elegant takedown,” another added, as one of her fans agreed: “Nice Naga, nice. That made me smile, such an elegant takedown.”
“Always with the classy responses! I don't think I could do it,” one tweeted.
“Not sure exactly which programme Sally watched unless you have been reincarnated as Victoria,” another joked.
“Nicely done!” one replied, as a fan chimed in: “Bravo Naga!”
“Burn. Excellent response,” a delighted follower posted, as one fan said it made her day “a lot lovelier”.
“Well played, Naga,” she added.
“I hope you enjoyed tweeting that as much as I did reading it,” another quipped, while many of her followers suggested ‘Sally’ needed to have her eyes tested, after mistaking Victoria for Naga.
“Should’ve gone to Specsavers!!! Naga is not on telly this morning,” one wrote.
“Someone needs to go to their optician. Just a hint,” another added.
