Nadiya’s Time To Eat: When will Nadiya Hussain’s new show air and what can we expect?

Nadiya Hussain is set to reveal how to cook meals in super quick time in Nadiya’s Time to Eat on BBC2.

The new series premieres tonight with its first episode, Recipes In A Rush, and will join the famous TV cook’s extensive catalogue of cooking shows.

In The Chronicles of Nadiya, she returned to her culinary roots in Bangladesh and in 2017 she went on a food cross-country journey in the UK for Nadiya’s British Food Adventure.

Now the 2015 Great British Bake Off winner will share a selection of stress-free recipes designed to help save time and calm hectic lives, beginning with dishes for when people are in a rush.

When is the first episode?

Episode one of Nadiya’s Time To Eat airs on BBC Two on Monday, July 15 at 8pm.

What is it about and what will she be cooking?

The half-hour episode is aptly timed for busy bodies and will see her demonstrating a trick for turning pancakes into a raspberry and peanut butter tray bake, while an omelette wrap filled with sun-dried tomato paste, olives and mushrooms is prepared in under 10 minutes.

And if that isn’t enough content for one day, the occasional Loose Women panellist also joins a shift at the largest mushroom producer in the country to find out how the produce arrives on our kitchen tables.

Will she be helping anyone out?

In Kent, Hussain goes to the rescue of an overstretched mum as one of her ultimate fast-food fixes transforms the family’s mealtimes.

What does Hussain think about meal prep?

"Prepared meals can ease some of the worry of having to cook fresh every day. I believe if we plan ahead, having meals ready in the freezer can be as convenient as takeaway," the 34-year-old told Whats On TV.

She added: “I always like to think of one meal as two. During the time you take to cook one meal you could have also made another to stick in your freezer.

“It’s fresh, you know what you’ve put in it, and all it needs is warming up. Not that I’m saying we shouldn’t treat ourselves to a takeaway occasionally. I love putting my feet up and not worrying about cooking!”

Nadiya's Time To Eat launches tonight on BBC Two at 8pm.
