Nadine Coyle has opened up about her insecurities when she was touring with Girls Aloud saying she felt pressure to always 'look perfect'.
The Derry native was chatting all things skincare and beauty on the Celebrity Skin Talk live Instagram show with Scott McGlynn when she revealed how she has learned to be more confident and comfortable in her own skin.
Reflecting on her Girls Aloud days, Nadine said: "When I was younger and going through that phase of having to look perfect all the time, I would find a reflection anywhere, literally anywhere, a butter knife, I was like, is everything still there. So yeah, that was years of just being exhausted with caring far too much and I had to realise, and once it made sense that this wasn't for me, most of the time it was for strangers."

She also revealed that she had a very strange encounter in a New York lift when a stranger was horrified by her un-manicured nails.
"I had this really random encounter in a lift in New York and this guy, it was very New York, and you had to go to this hotel and go to the lift and the password was 'black jacket' and they take you up to this rooftop and it was amazing up there.
"But on the way down, it's a long way down and this guy was like 'oh let me kiss your hand', and I was like, 'OK', and he was like 'Oh my God, your nails aren't painted!' You literally would have thought I had two heads, this man was horrified, that as a female I was out and about, living my life with unpolished nails. Now that can't be the world we live in.
"I was thinking, 'ah bless you how do you get through the day if a woman with unpainted nails is so offensive...how are you surviving?" she laughed.
Reflecting on her time in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, Nadine revealed they were only given SPF and no makeup which she said she was fine with as she is minimalist when it comes to makeup anyway.
"We just had SPF, that was it, there wasn't even lip balm, no sunglasses nothing like that, it was an experience, an experiment to see how you get on in that situation, it was a really great experience."
Chatting about the show's return and the news about the All-Star special that is coming next year, Nadine said she loves the show but it does see her falling into 'bad habits.
"I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm a huge fan of the show anyway, it's one of those things, it's getting near Christmas, I get into really bad habits of needing to order a takeaway when it's on, I get really sucked in by those ads that are like, order a pizza, and I'm like you're right, I should order a pizza, but I'm not going to do that this year. I'll maybe have a herbal tea instead."
