Nacho Novo exits managerial role as Rangers legend says 'I will be back'

Nacho Novo insists he will be back after the Rangers hero departed USL League One club Lexington SC.

The Ibrox legend was named permanent manager of the US club back in September after Sam Stockley stepped down as boss to concentrate on his director role.

Novo took on the job on an interim basis, but upon the end of the season he has decided to part ways.

Writing on Instagram he said: "Well today I said bye to Lexington. It was a good season. Thanks to all the fans and players. Good luck for next season."

In a further post, Novo posted a picture of him celebrating for Rangers with the caption: "Thanks everyone for your support. I will be back."

When Novo took over Lexington had just four games remaining and were sitting in ninth place in USL's League One.

The club ended up finishing in ninth place and Novo recorded two draws and two defeats in his matches in charge.

During his time at Ibrox the striker played 255 games and scored 73 goals.

The Spaniard won three league titles, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups and has been inducted into the club's Hall of Fame since his retirement from the game.
