Rather than bat it away, the Liverpool boss instead politely chose to repeat his message from earlier in the week by pointing out that he already had sufficient options in the engine room and wasn’t expecting anyone to ask to leave before the window shuts in six weeks’ time.

Derby matches often mean more for local players fortunate enough to be representing the team they have supported their entire lives, a sentiment which applies for both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Rashford. It should perhaps come as no surprise then that the latter is not fond of the Reds, having grown up understanding the significance of this heavyweight fixture.
