Naby Keita could link up with former Liverpool team-mate after summer exit

AC Milan have reportedly been offered Naby Keita ahead of the midfielder's expected Liverpool departure this summer.

There have been no signs to suggest Keita, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is any closer to extending his stay on Merseyside as the Reds prepare to shake-up their midfield department.

A host of clubs will likely be eager to recruit the Guinean on a free transfer, particularly given the extortionate fees clubs are expected to pay for players in the modern market.

One of the sides said to be eyeing a move for the 28-year-old are AC Milan, which would see the Reds' No.8 link up with former team-mate Divock Origi should a deal be done.

A latest report by Calciomercato has stated the Italian giants have been presented the chance to bring Keita to the club as Milan look to work 'deeply on the market' during the summer.

Quotes from Jurgen Klopp from the start of this year hinted at the potential departures of several long-serving Liverpool players, a category Keita comes under, telling reporters: "You can have a good player who did a lot of good stuff in the past and then in your mind, you think ‘maybe that’s it now for him’.

“If you can then go out and bring in another player to replace him, that makes sense for both sides. If you cannot bring anybody in, you can’t take anybody out, that’s the situation.”
