N’Keal Harry, Matthew Judon among notable absences on Day 1 of Patriots OTAs

The New England Patriots began voluntary OTAs on Monday morning. There were several absences, as the Patriots began the sessions. Among the notable players were linebacker Matthew Judon and wide receiver N’Keal Harry.

Harry has not been a part of any of the Patriots’ offseason program. There is a sense that the wide receiver could be nearing the end of his time in New England, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.

As for Judon, there was no given explanation for his absence. Players can miss OTAs for illness, injury or personal matters per NESN’s Dakota Randall. The full list of absences from Monday is below.

— WR N’Keal Harry
— LB Matthew Judon
— S Adrian Phillips
— LB Jahlani Tavai
— LB Ronnie Perkins
— LB Harvey Langi
— OL Chasen Hines
— OL Andrew Stueber
— OL Isaiah Wynn
— DT Lawrence Guy
— DL Byron Cowart

In addition to the absences, other players worked on the side field. The side field is used for players who are dealing with injury\rehab matters. Here’s the full list of those players.

As the Patriots look to get a sense of where their roster stands, health is of utmost importance as workouts begin. This will give New England a chance to assess the depth on their roster as well as monitor health of recovering players.
