N'Golo Kante has insisted that he wants to stay at Chelsea and play a part in the club's 'exciting project'. The 32-year-old midfielder faces an increasingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge with his contract set to expire at the end of next month.
With Kante yet to commit his long-term future to the Blues, he'll become a free agent in the summer making him an attractive acquisition. The France international missed a large majority of the season after suffering a hamstring injury in August and he's only returned to action in March.
Despite his injury record, Kante is expected to be bombarded with offers from numerous top clubs across Europe unless he finally pens a deal with Chelsea. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Frenchman outlined his plan to stay in west London and contribute towards the club's 'exciting project'.

When asked if he'd like to be a part of the Blues' new era, Kante replied: "Yeah for sure. It’s an exciting project for the club. Unfortunately the season has not been a standout for Chelsea.
"I’m sure everyone wants to go this way; the way of success, the way of winning titles. I hope this club will fight again in this direction. Let’s see where I will be but I hope that this is a change for the club, that is most important."
Then, on his injury, Kante added: "It was the purpose of the surgery, to come back strong. At the moment I feel good, hopefully it’ll carry on like this. For the last few weeks I’ve been playing I’ve felt very good.
"I hope I will carry on for the rest of the season and hopefully the most difficult part is behind me, and I’m able to forget it – enjoying football again, enjoying wins again and enjoying hopefully more success."
According to the Mirror last month, Kante is joined by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Barcelona's transfer shortlist this summer. The report states that the Spanish giants want to offer the midfielder a two-year contract, but it's said that he will have to accept a reduced wage.
