Mystic Jude Bellingham's major prediction comes true as England star scores vs Iran

Jude Bellingham's mystic prediction before England's World Cup opener against Iran came true inside the first half after the 19-year-old scored to give Gareth Southgate's side the lead.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder had gone 18 matches without a goal since making his Three Lions debut but popped up at the perfect time to grab his first.

His looping header from Luke Shaw's cross was the perfect start for England, who entered half-time 3-0 up after Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling both converted shortly afterwards. Having come into the game with major question marks following a ragged Nations League campaign, it was the perfect way to get the tournament up and running.

For Bellingham, he may have known what was about to come. Speaking before the game and in anticipation of his first-ever World Cup appearance, he was asked about not scoring and said, "Maybe I'm saving it...No I'm joking; I've been trying, I promise!"

England fans will be fine with it being saved for the big occasion, and after improving his end product, he has developed a habit of scoring big goals. He currently has four in five matches in the Champions League, with three in 14 in Bundesliga so far this season.

It was a goal that had been coming though, as Bellingham warned, "I've got into some good positions in the last few games. It's about making the box, being in the right positions, staying calm."
