Question marks hang over why a once busy bar and restaurant has shut its doors.
The Pioneer on Liverpool Road in Crosby shut its doors suddenly at the start of the year, with people living locally left scratching their heads as to why the once popular bar and restaurant hasn't been open since. Speculation was shared on social media, with a number of people asking the question as to why it was now shut.
Rumours swirled over the apparent closure, with no one able to come up with a firm answer. Despite the ECHO reaching out to the bar, no one has clarified the future of the bar.

The bar's Facebook page has been left dormant, with the last post coming on New Year's Day advertising breakfast, with no indication it was set to shut.
When attempting to access the bar's website, users are met with an error message indicating the address is not found. Posting in a local Facebook group, one person said: "Has the Pioneer restaurant closed?"
One person wrote: "I believe so yes staff were supposedly informed via text last week."
Some speculated that it had been sold. One person replied: "Closed for good already sold on apparently."
Another commented: "The Pioneer will open soon under new management."
