Myles Turner listed as ‘ambitious trade target’ for Chicago Bulls

This could be a very interesting offseason for the Chicago Bulls. As things stand, their Big Three of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic is still intact, but that could chance on a dime. Reports indicate that the Bulls are “done” with that core. Plus, Vucevic is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

While Arturas Karnisovas has been firm on his decision not to rebuild the roster, a shake-up could be exactly what the Bulls need. They don’t even need to tear everything down. Just change the core. In a recent article by the Bleacher Report staff, Dan Favale listed Indiana Pacers big man as a potential “ambitious trade target” for the Bulls this offseason.

Rather than bringing back Vucevic, trading for Turner would give the Bulls a bit of a new look. The Pacers center is much younger than Vucevic at 27 years old and is coming off of a career season.

“A lack of spacing and shooting plagued the Chicago Bulls all season long,” Favale wrote. “Myles Turner takes care of that.

“The 6’11” center just drilled 37.8 percent of his triples this season. His 4.9 attempts per 36 minutes could stand to come up, but coaxing more outside volume from him is hardly out of the question. Turner’s rim protection and mobility beyond the paint would also be a welcomed addition to a defense that needed to insulate Nikola Vučević from the outside in.”

Trading for Turner would likely have to include some of Chicago’s younger assets and/or Lonzo Ball, but it would certainly be a great fit.
