Mykhaylo Mudryk spotted at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea v Crystal Palace before transfer unveiling

Chelsea transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk has been spotted at Stamford Bridge before the clash against Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old appears set to be unveiled as a new signing for the Blues, with reports claiming that an £88million deal has been struck with Shakhtar Donetsk for his services.

The 22-year-old is set to sign a seven-year deal at the club, continuing the trend of young additions joining for long contracts under the new Boehly-Clearlake regime. Mudryk has been heavily linked with a move to rivals Arsenal, who had three bids rejected for the winger.

However, it was Chelsea that acted quickest, u-turning on their decision to not lodge a bid and instead fast-tracking a deal on Saturday. The Ukraine international then made the flight to London, where he booked a medical and is said to have finalised any contract details.

The plan for the Blues has been to unveil him at the clash against Crystal Palace, reports Fabrizio Romano, though at this stage he hasn't been shown to the crowd before the match. Romano also posted a first-look picture of Mudryk wearing a Chelsea shirt.

The Blues will be hopeful that the new signing will be able to witness a better performance than the side have mustered up recently. Graham Potter's side have struggled with a mixture of injuries and individual errors that have seen them slip to tenth in the Premier League.

A bounce back is required and new signings may be the way to get it, with Mudryk the latest sign of clear ambition from the new ownership.
