Mykhailo Mudryk makes Arsenal and Chelsea feelings clear with Oleksandr Zinchenko admission

Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk has revealed that he has shared jokes with Oleksandr Zinchenko following his January transfer to the Premier League.

The winger seemed close to joining Zinchenko at Arsenal throughout the most of the window before Chelsea swooped in to hijack the deal for £88million. The Gunners had been tracking the Ukrainian for several months after first emerging as a potential suitor towards the end of last summer.

After weeks of negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk, Edu Gaspar could not agree on a final price, allowing Todd Boehly to add Mudryk to his illustrious list of new signings. Since moving to Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old has assisted only one goal in seven appearances.

This month, Mudryk has reunited with his compatriots for the start of their 2024 European Championship qualifying campaign. Ruslan Rotan's side visit Wembley Stadium on Sunday to face England after beating Brentford B earlier this week.

The international break has also produced a first meeting between Zinchenko and Mudryk for the first time since Arsenal missed out on the forward.

And in an interview with Sky Sports, Mudryk has insisted there are no hard feelings with the Gunners left-back, admitting there has been some teasing from Zinchenko. "He helped me a lot. I like him so much. We often joke about Arsenal, Chelsea and what colour is London," he told Sky Sports.

"But I like this guy, he's very funny, very kind guy. We spend some time with him and always in positive vibes."

Asked what colour London is, Mudryk replied: "Blue."
