Mykhailo Mudryk fires brutal eight-word response as Chelsea star told he 'isn't good enough'

Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk has responded in brutal fashion to an Instagram comment telling him he "isn't good enough". The 22-year-old has endured a challenging first six months in west London following an £88.5million move from Shakhtar Donetsk as he appeared for 654 minutes across 15 Premier League games with just two assists in goal contributions to his name.

However, it's fair to say that Mudryk didn't arrive at Stamford Bridge under the best circumstances with a mass squad rebuild taking place just six months after an ownership change. Mudryk also went on to play for three different managers with the Blues first-team squad significantly bloated which led to some members not having a set area to change at Cobham.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season and the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, Mudryk made the decision to participate in the under-21 European championships. An injury saw him miss most of the group stage with Ukraine but by the time the knockout stages arrived, he was fit and ready to play.

Mudryk went on to impress as he picked up superb assists against both France and Spain, though Ukraine were knocked out by the latter in the semi-final. Mudryk will now have an extended break ahead of starting pre-season with Chelsea, and Pochettino has already spoken on what will happen once he returns.

The Argentine told Chelsea's official website. "We were talking with Mudryk, I’m going to meet him before he comes to start pre-season, he was in the Under-21 Euros and will join us when we fly to America.

"I really like to see and to know him to try to decide with the staff the best strategy to help him to be at the level that I think Chelsea when they signed him expected him to be." After impressing at the tournament his teammates Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke went on to win with England, Mudryk received some well-earned praise, however there was one negative comment Mudryk quickly shut down on Instagram.

"Bro learn to make 360 turns with the ball it will help u change direction and be unpredictable," one fan wrote under a recent post from the Ukrainian. "Running with the ball in one direction isn’t good enough. Clue." Mudryk however, promptly responded in brutal fashion. "Why you are didn’t win Balon d’Or yet?” [sic] was his reply.

Mudryk now faces a decisive season at Chelsea to try and justify his hefty price tag but he will have certainly learnt a lot in the past few months that is sure to help him break into and remain in Pochettino's starting XI.
