'My sister-in-law got my 12-year-old drunk - I never want to speak to her again'

A mum was so outraged after her sister-in-law gave her 12-year-old child "lots of alcohol" at a family barbecue, that she decided to cut off all contact with her.

The mum, whose name is Lynne, says she's had to change her phone number three times after receiving "harassing" phone calls from her sister-in-law and son "24/7" following the incident.

Writing in about her nightmare during a recent family feud segment on This Morning with Vanessa Feltz, Lynne explained that she and her child, who is now 17, no longer have anything to do with her sister-in-law, and are fine with how things currently are.

Her sister-in-law sees things differently, however, and, five years after their feud began, wants to put the past behind them and make amends.

In a letter read out on the show by Holly Willoughby, on Wednesday March 1, Lynne went on to reveal that her husband is still in contact with her now 73-year-old sister-in-law, as are other members of the family.

According to Lynne, their family feels she should just apologise to her sister-in-law and move on, but she doesn't think she's done anything to apologise for, and furthermore feels she is fine without her in her life.

Considering Lynne's dilemma, Vanessa went on to address the various issues outlined in the letter, agreeing that Lynne absolutely isn't in the wrong for refusing to apologise "when she didn't do anything wrong".

Vanessa advised: "It's all about whether she wants to extend an olive branch after all these years. Now the nasty calls have stopped, now the drunken 12-year-old who shouldn't have been given alcohol under any circumstances is 17 and growing up.

"It's about whether she feels ready to move on, and it doesn't look as though she does."
