Neighbours can make your life hellish or heavenly, depending on how well you get on. So it's always best to try to be considerate when you can. Aside from the benefits you can reap, it's also important to look out for your community. But how far would you be willing to go to appease your neighbours?
One resident has been timing their washing around their neighbour's lifestyle after receiving a noise complaint. As the conscientious resident explained in a post to Reddit, they were more than happy to take their neighbour into consideration.
But apparently their best efforts were not good enough, as they found out when they repeated the offence in question - using their dryer late at night - eleven months after the initial dispute.

The resident said: "One night I turned on the dryer at 1am and found a note on my door the next day saying not to run the dryer at night because it makes a lot of noise. I got management to take a look at the dryer but they said nothing they could do noise wise, it was fine. So I just avoided running it at night."
They continued: "11 MONTHS later, I had come back from a trip and needed to run the dryer. It was 11pm, neighbor [sic] comes down immediately and tells me to turn it off. I explain the situation and say I could turn it off in 40 minutes. Neighbor [sic] says that doesn't work for him, it would be better if I turn it off now. Said I didn't want my clothes ruined, keeping it on."
As such, the resident was keen to know if they were in the wrong when they subsequently ignored the request and left the machine running. Fortunately for the author, lots of people sided with them in the comments.
"Your neighbour needs to grow up or move," thought one person. "Noise is a part of life and some of us don't have the luxury of worrying about noise at night." A second said: "Dude shouldn't live in apartments."
Another person commented: "It's a bit s*** to do laundry at night. Would your life be that much different if you do laundry during the day? Also - if you don't want to ruin your clothes, don't use a dryer. Let them air dry instead."
However, the author revealed there was a reason, as they replied: "Came back from a trip, need the clothes the next day, there was no other time in-between. I’d love to air dry, have no balcony to do it in tho."
