A disgruntled resident is fed up with their neighbour's visitor parking in front of their driveway for hours at a time, despite there being spaces available up the road.
The homeowner says the visitor in question often pops over to visit the neighbour and insists they must be aware they are blocking the drive when they park.
They've noticed the visitor checking the back of their car when they park so they know how close they are and how much they block the drive.
Taking to Reddit to rant about the inconvenience, the resident added that they do not want to cause a big scene with the neighbour but it's getting really frustrating.
In the post, the anonymous homeowner explained: "My neighbour has a visitor that visits regularly and he always parks his car that hangs over my driveway by an inch or two for hours at a time.
"The worst part is that there is plenty of room to park slightly further up closer to my neighbour's driveway. I think the visitor is unaware because my neighbour has a 'walkway' that is the same colour as the curb so it looks like their driveway is actually wider than it is. The visitor nestles his car between my driveway and the end of the grass/walkway."
They can still access their parking spot but it is very often slightly blocked which can be quite frustrating.
"I do not want to cause a big scene and call parking enforcement unless absolutely necessary because it seems very aggressive and I have to still live next to and regularly see my neighbour," the Reddit poster said.
Desperate for advice on 'how to nicely deal with this' and approach their neighbour, the homeowner's post was met with multiple suggestions.
One person wrote: "Maybe try and get a bit of a dialogue going with your neighbours as being on good terms with them is really handy for times like these."
While another stated: "If your neighbours seem nice and reasonable, I would ask either the visitor or neighbour if he minds parking his car a little further from your driveway."
"If it really bothers you that much just talk to your neighbour," a third penned.
