LEGENDARY singer Billy Joel has rescheduled a hotly anticipated Scotland show which was planned for this summer due to a medical condition.
His performance was originally planned to be at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield in June but has now been rearranged to June 6 next year due to the sudden announcement.
The We Didn’t Start the Fire singer last performed in the Scottish capital in 1979.
Joel’s Anfield Stadium show in Liverpool has also been rescheduled to June 20 next year.
The next show on the tour was due to take place in Toronto, Canada on March 15, before a number of US dates ahead of the UK shows. The tour is set to resume in time for Joel’s Acrisure Stadium show in Pittsburgh on July 5 this year.
In a statement, the Vienna singer said to fans: “While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first.
“I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”
The Piano Man singer is recovering from recent surgery and needs to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors, a statement said
All tickets for the rescheduled shows will automatically be valid for the new dates, with those unable to attend eligible for refunds from the point of purchase.
Representatives for the 75-year-old said he is expected to make a full recovery.
