Nottingham Forest flop Rodrigo Ely has raised eyebrows with a stunning performance against Barcelona.
The 29-year-old joined Forest in the summer of 2021, arriving on a free transfer from La Liga side Alaves. Less than five months later, the defender was released from his contract without making an appearance.
Weeks later, he returned to Spain and joined Almeria, and he has now overcome his injury problems, making 22 appearances in La Liga so far this season, with his team 15th in the Spanish top flight.

Ely stunned supporters with an outstanding performance against Barcelona this week. He completed a remarkable 13 clearances against the Catalan giants, keeping star striker Robert Lewandowski in his proverbial back pocket.
“I didn’t know that. My goodness,” Ely told Cadena Ser when told how many clearances he had made. “A lot of work was done this week before the game against Barcelona.
"There were things we needed to correct. We have taken a very important step against a great team like Barca.
“There is a lot of work behind us. We must continue in the same way.”
