'My father-in-law cut our little girl’s hair and butchered it - I hate him'

A parent says they've become completely fed up with their father-in-law failing to respect any personal boundaries, with their rage finally bubbling over when he took it upon himself to cut their daughter's hair.

According to this furious parent, their father-in-law remarked upon their two-year-old daughter's hair a few weeks back, offering to cut it himself with scissors so as to get it out of her eyes.

At the time, the parent firmly told him "absolutely not". The little girl's hair was admittedly at a bit of an "awkward length", especially as she doesn't like to wear clips, but they didn't want their father-in-law getting involved.

Unfortunately, their father-in-law, who is said to have a history of repeatedly disrespecting others, simply went ahead and cut the child's hair anyway, leaving them positively "seething".

Taking to Reddit, the irritated parent wrote: "Today, while my wife was doing their shopping I get a photo from my mother-in-law of our two-year-old, and she now has s*****, sloppy, choppy bangs.

"I immediately call and lose my s***. Rather than admit fault, his reaction was mostly annoyance that my mother-in-law had spilled the beans.

"He then tried to tell me it was only a few strands of hair. I told him it was a lot more than that and now we have to take her to a professional to try and salvage her hair."

They've even asked the child's five-year-old sibling to keep quiet about the trim (Stock Photo) (Getty Images)

They continued: "I texted him after, reiterating how far over the line this was and he told me that he had no idea I'd ever be this upset. That obviously he wouldn't have done it if he'd known.

"I reminded him of our previous conversation and told him he knew exactly what he was doing. The icing on the cake is that I found out later in the evening that my five-year-old was in the room when it happened, but he coached her to keep it a secret from us.

"No, I don't know why he assumed we could possibly not notice what he'd done. It's been 24 hours now and I am still seething. I hate this man. I hate him so much."

This is far from the only time a person has had to navigate an awkward situation with their in-laws. A bride-to-be recently opened up about how her own future mother-in-law announced she'd be skipping the wedding altogether after she wasn't invited dress shopping.

The bride had felt she had no choice but to exclude her mother-in-law from the outing due to her tendency to stir up drama, fearing she'd only cause trouble if she came along.
