'My dad is dating my half-sister - he's upset I find it weird and disgusting'

A man has been left sick to his stomach after discovering his old man has been dating his half-sister. He explained how his 64-year-old dad was dating his half-sister for months before learning about their connection - but chose to continue their relationship despite it.

Taking to Reddit, he said: "My mum had my 50-year-old sister when she was very young. She never played a role in her life and her dad moved her to another country where she lived all her life. My mum met my dad and they got married and had me - but they got divorced soon after."

He went on to explain how his dad met his half-sister by accident - and struck up a relationship with her after getting to know her on a deeper level. The man added: "He did not know at first who she was. They started dating and it was only later they found out the connection.

"My mum had introduced me to my sister and we have a pretty good connection, but she never introduced my dad to her, so he didn't know her at all while growing up.

"My dad decided to continue to date her since they were not related. I said that was weird and he got upset."

Wanting to know whether he has a right to be upset, he has asked Reddit users for their thoughts on his dad's 'unusual' relationship.

In response, one user said: "That's weird., unsettling, cringey, and gross. You are wholeheartedly entitled to your feelings. I can't imagine how your half sister is OK with dating her mum's ex-husband either."

Another user added: "It is really weird. It's not your fault for someone else getting upset at your opinions."

A third user said: "Whether he knew who she was or not, he is dating someone who was birthed by the same person who birthed his son that alone should send some 'get out' signals to your brain."
