My Chemical Romance fans already queuing outside Kilmainham 30 hours before concert begins

My Chemical Romance fans are already queuing outside the Royal Hospital Kilmainham a day before the concert.

The MCR community gathered outside the North Dublin venue a day in advance to see the band for the first time since they broke up 10 years ago.

Fans have been braving the rain to queue up with tents and camping chairs 30 hours before the gates open.

One fan, Rizz told Dublin Live: “They’re a big band. They broke up back in 2012, that’s when I first got into them so I just missed the opportunity.

“I’ve been waiting about 10 years for the reunion. This will be their first Dublin show and my first time seeing them. I’m really excited.

“There’s a group of very dedicated fans here. I’m number ten in the queue. These guys have all been to the gigs in the UK.

“I got here at 12pm today and I’ll be here until Wednesday night. I’ve many more people joining me later on but I’m just the craziest.

“It’s such a strong and creative community. It’s beautiful people and I’m excited to meet more fans. It’s amazing to see a band bring people together like this.”

Another said: “I came here from Italy. It’s my first concert abroad and my first time travelling alone. My Chem is really important to me, they’re my inspiration.

“My Chemical Romance fans are very important to me. I almost gave up in 2018 because I was very depressed. A lot of people helped me and supported me on the internet.

“We made a community and I’m very grateful. I’m going to the two concerts in Dublin.”

A third added: “I flew in this morning from Amsterdam. They’ve been broken up for so long and now they’re finally back and I want to go up to the barrier.

“It’s so unreal, they were already broken up when I first started listening to them so it’s really strange that I’m going to be seeing them. I’m seeing them in Dublin and then in Rotterdam in two weeks.”

My Chemical Romance made their debut in 2002 with the independently released album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

The band signed to Reprise Records the following year and made their major label debut with 2004's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
