When growing up with siblings, you quickly learn how to brush off their nasty comments because they're generally made in jest.
But sometimes their jokes can go too far and end up hurting your feelings.
Speaking to Reddit, one woman, only known as Emily, explained how her 28-year-old brother named his new rescue dog after her because they share a 'somewhat similar trait'.
She said: "My brother named his dog after me and I don't know whether to laugh or be offended.

"The dog is a rescue but never learnt its name because it is only about five-months-old. The rescue said he could change it if he wanted.
"It is somewhat cross-eyed and I have a lazy eye - that's why he named it after me."
Claiming she doesn't mind the dog's name, Emily says she has learnt to love herself for who she is.
"He just did it as a way to wind me up. My brother and I have a great relationship and love to annoy each other - but I didn't expect this level of commitment," she added.
However, not everybody saw the so-called 'funny side' to the dog's name, as their mum thought it was rude and distasteful.
The 25-year-old said: "Now my family don't know which Emily they're talking about in certain conversations.
"It has started them saying 'Who cross-eyed Em or lazy-eyed Em?'.
"I don't mind this - I find it funny but I just never expected to need this type of description all because of my brother.
"My mum was slightly upset with my brother for calling his cross-eyed dog Emily after me though.
"She doesn't join in with calling me lazy-eyed Emily, although my other brothers do and sometimes my dad."
Wanting to get her own back, Emily has devised a plan to make the dog love her more than her brother.
She aims to accomplish this by making a huge fuss of her and bringing her extra treats when they meet up.
"We live just about 10 minutes away so we see each other all the time," she added. "We live closer to each other than we live to my other brothers and parents.
"Maybe if I always bring treats and toys to Emily she will start favouring me over my brother.
"The other Emily is such a lovely dog. She is so playful and loving. She is a great addition to our family and I am very pleased she has become apart of my life."
Unconvinced by the woman's reaction to the dog's name, users have shared their own thoughts on the unusual situation.
One user said: "I am 22-years-old and I also have a lazy eye, and honestly, it would kind of hurt my feelings if my brother named his dog after me.
"I don’t know if you feel the same way, but sometimes when people address my lazy eye I feel embarrassed. So that would make me feel uncomfortable on some level for sure.
"But if you don’t mind it or think it came from a mean-spirited place then that’s good. You know your brother best.
"I’m glad you have a cute addition to your family and I wish you luck in winning Emily over!"
While another added: "It sounds like this really hurts your feelings. Please know that it’s totally OK to tell your brother that while you know he meant to just be fun, this one hurts your feelings and makes you feel bad. Good luck."
Whereas others have been offering her advice on how she can achieve her goal to make the rescue dog love her more than its owner.
One user added: "Always, always keep some yummy stinky treats in your pocket. She'll follow you (the smell) to the ends of the world... or at least the park."
