In most circumstances, women may wish for new make-up or sparkling jewellery from their partners for Christmas. However, a mum has admitted her upset after she opened an "extra gift" from her boyfriend yesterday.
The woman was initially excited to open her surprise extra gift but was thankful that her children were out of sight when she saw the contents inside. Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, the woman fumed that she feels "cheap and disrespected" after opening her new lacey underwear.
Sharing her post to the "am I being unreasonable" section, she captioned the post: "Boyfriend bought me sexy underwear."
She explained: "So my boyfriend of five years gave me a cheap Love Honey lacey body for Christmas and I'm a bit upset.
"It wasn't the only thing he got me, but my face lit up when he said that he had an extra gift for me, once the kids were upstairs...
"I feel cheap and disrespected."
Seeking advice from Mumsnet users online, the woman questioned: "Am I being unreasonable?"
Flocking to the comment section of the post, the raunchy gift sparked a debate amongst users - who were torn in opinion with whether the gift was "disrespectful".
One person fumed: "F*** him. Horrible."
A second wrote: "He shouldn't have said it was a Xmas present for you and wrapped it up, it's more like a Xmas present for him."
"It's a gift for him That's what's disrespectful," a third added.
On the other hand, a different user wrote: "Awww nooo. See I would be chuffed with that in a way but it depends on you and your relationship, I've got a Mrs Santa outfit but said not today as I'm stuffed."
Another added: "You are being unreasonable… I can't see how it's disrespectful."
