'My boss was rude for years - my revenge meant he was forced to fly to another city'

A woman has taken revenge in her stride after getting a "petty" comeback on her horrible boss - who would "scream" at her and make her work unpaid overtime.

The employee has been praised for her "amazing" idea on popular forum site Reddit - where she detailed how forced her manager to fly over to another city

The anonymous user explained her snide idea on the subreddit forum r/pettyrevenge, which boasts more than 3.8 million members to date.

She explained: "Boss overworked me and I got my revenge. My boss was your typical a**hole guy and one step further. He used to make me work 13-hour shifts without overtime because 'I was paying my dues'."

The woman went on: "Worst part was his screaming and throwing things at me. I've had keyboards, mice, wires, and empty water bottles hurled at me and upper management said this (construction) is a tough field and I have to have thick skin to survive and be successful.

"I have cried multiple times in my two years at this job because it was so horrible.

"For some additional context, my partner volunteers like crazy and receives free tickets to shows and concerts. For the two years I have worked there, my boss has timely asked for two tickets to be arranged for him and his wife.

"Before I was leaving, my boss told me to arrange similar tickets for an upcoming show. I told him that my partner could get them only for the venue in another city so he'd have to travel. He was fine with it because it was one of the classical things he loves.

"A few weeks later, I sent him the ticket. But edited the QR code and the ticket number just enough to make it invalid. The ticket also did not have his name on file (had my partners) so I hoped they wouldn't be able to pull up the right ticket. (Plus I was pretty sure he didn't know my partner's full name to have the tickets pulled up).

"The weekend of the show, I saw on his Instagram stories that he flew to the other city. I got a bunch of calls from him that evening (presumably because the tickets were showing up as invalid) but I sat and watched TV and let my phone ring."

Since sharing his 'petty revenge' online, the man's post has raked in responses from Reddit users who fled to the comment section to discuss the ordeal.

One person wrote: "That's big-time revenge."

A second said: "This revenge, while nice, does not seem in any way proportional to the level of assholery this boss has shown to the original poster. Oh well, it's a small victory but that guy deserves so so much more."

Meanwhile, a different user admitted: "I would have told boss to go f*** himself the first time he asked me to work 13 hours straight without overtime."
