A Scots mum who resigned from a scandal-hit high school has given a video interview defending her decision to start an explicit OnlyFans page, saying: “My body, my choice”. In the clip, Kirsty Buchan als claims she was warned her wages from Bannerman High School, in Baillieston, Glasgow, would be docked if she took more than three days off to care for her sick son.
The 33-year-old alleges that teachers have been hurt when trying to break up fights amongst pupils - with staff staging a series of strikes over the violence in the coming weeks. The mum-of-one resigned from her post as a physics teacher after her racy images began circulating amongst students.
But speaking to the Daily Record, Kirsty was adamant she had no regrets over her decision to turn to adult entertainment work after a backlash from parents. She said: “If they’ve got a problem it’s because they can’t do it themselves. It’s my body, my choice. I got all this as a female physics teacher and I’ll get it again.
“Honestly, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. You don’t have to look but thanks for the publicity. My personal situation is… my son’s been really not well and he’s been waiting on a hospital referral.
“My work said the council policy is parents get three days off a year. Three days a year for single parents like myself who didn’t claim or go on benefits after having their children. I worked so hard to be where I am.
“I bought this house, myself I might add, for my son to have a good life and then when I need support in a place where I work myself sick, they tell me my wages are getting docked because I’m off with him. It was an easy decision.
“I have done a lot of free courses for Bannerman for years. Working for free, working myself sick. Then I’m getting told that my wages are getting docked.
“There’d be times where I was sitting working until 1am. I’ve seen all over social media like ‘oh this teachers got sacked’ or ‘this teacher has left by choice’. They’re making £50,000 and I’m thinking what’s the definition of insanity?
“Me sitting at 1am working, going in knackered, trying to look after my sick son and getting my wages docked or for me to sit behind here and make even more money? Easy.”
Kirsty claims she personally had to intervene between warring students after fights broke out at the school. But she alleges that management are failing their staff, who are “too scared” to speak out and are being branded “liars” by the school.
She added: “There were times maybe just before covid where there were three fights a week and I was personally splitting them up. They (the teachers) get injured trying to get in. You’re told not to actually go in or touch the kids.
“You can’t get involved. But you’re not going to let other kids get hurt. You’re too scared to talk out and say that anything is wrong. You’re not supported if you need help, if there’s a situation, you can’t reach anyone in school.
“You’re told there’s a button on the phone which apparently calls all the phones in the depute corridor. I was once given into trouble for calling it a panic button, I don’t know what the actual term for it is.
“But no one answers. If there’s a fight, you can’t get a hold of anyone on the phone.”
We previously told how members of the NASUWT teachers’ union have been striking at Bannerman High School over alleged violent and abusive behaviour of students.
Three days of action have been planned this week with a further eight days of strikes planned for December. The union claim educators have been 'shoved and threatened' and someone 'brandished' a screwdriver on the premises.
However, a source told the Record that the problem only relates to a small number of pupils.
A Glasgow City Council spokesperson added: “It is very telling that this person has tried to deflect from this situation by taking advantage of current news stories about the school which have no relation to the disciplinary proceedings.”
