Muslim Sisters of Eire, an organisation made up of Muslim women in Ireland, is to host a multicultural festival on Thursday, August 4 in Dublin's Phoenix Park.
With the aim of fostering integration between Muslim communities and wider Irish society, the event will feature an array of activities and attractions for all the family. The family fun day originally took place in 2019 and was received well by those who attended.
The group's founder Lorraine O'Connor spoke to Dublin Live about the event and what people can expect. She revealed that the event will be opened by Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald.

She said: "It's a way for people to come together for a cup of tea and a chat. It's a good way to break down barriers between communities. This year, the focus is on the kids.
"We want parents and children from all backgrounds to come along and mix. It will be great to have loads of kids along. They don't see race, colour or religion."
Parents, children and families heading along to the multicultural fest can expect things like face painting, clowns, children's entertainment, garden games, henna tattoos, community football, food, artisan stalls and more.
Muslim Sisters of Eire is a voluntary group of Muslim women living in Ireland. The organisation's purpose is to support women, in particular Muslim women, and encourage integration and work together for the good of wider society.
The group is heavily involved in charity work, regularly providing support people experiencing homelessness in Ireland. The Community Summer Multicultural Fest takes place Furze Road in Dublin's Phoenix Park between 12pm and 4pm on Thursday, August 4.
The event is free to attend and will even have free cakes and treats, although donations to Muslim Sisters of Eire will be made possible on the day.
