Stringent traffic regulations will be imposed in Kozhikode city on Thursday in view of the Palestine Human Rights Mega Rally being organised by the State committee of the Indian Union Muslim League.
The Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) of Police told reporters here on Tuesday that there would be restrictions on city bus routes from 3 p.m. Buses coming from the Kannur direction shall take a diversion from West Hill Chungam and move to the bus stand through Karaparamba and Eranhipalam. Buses from Balussery and Narikkuni also shall take the Karaparamba-Eranhipalam route.
Four-wheelers with single passenger should be parked outside the city. Vehicles parked on the sides of major roads will be removed using recovery vans. Traffic to the beach will be regulated in the afternoon.
Parking areas for vehicles coming from other districts have been arranged at North and South beaches. Passengers may deboard at either Kothi or Gandhi Road Junction on Beach Road, and the vehicles may proceed to the respective parking areas.
