A Muslim convert has been found guilty of plotting a terrorist attack, including targeting a mosque and an anti-terrorism cleric.
Jason Savage, 35, filmed a reconnaissance video near a mosque in Birmingham.
Savage filmed himself discussing potential escape routes and expressing his need for “the means” to carry out an attack.
He was convicted after a three-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court, where the jury heard he had sent messages outlining his intentions to an undercover officer.
He had also collected images of police and military locations in Birmingham. The court heard Savage, who converted to Islam in the 2010s, followed an extreme interpretation of Salafism.
