Pandit Venkatesh Kumar enthralled music lovers in Belagavi on Friday. He presented a Hindustani classical music performance as part of the Swar Vasant event in Karnataka Law Society’s Gogte Institute of Technology in Belagavi on Friday.
He began his performance with Raag Bheem Palas, and presented two pieces of Brij poetry. He went beyond tradition to sing three pieces of poetry while presenting Raag Multani and completed the classical unit with two renditions in Raag Bihag. He also sang Yega Yega Vithabai, a Marathi Abhang, a Vachana by Basavanna and his all time popular Dasara Pada `Sharanu Sakaloddhara’ by Kanaka Dasa.
Pradeep Sawkar and Rajendra Belagaonkar KLS office-bearers, principal Jayant Kittur, D.T. Kulkarni and S.G. Kulkarni, members of the organising committee and others were present.
