A man who vowed "to make St Helens proud" before stabbing another man in the neck was found guilty of murder.
Thomas Brown turned his bedroom into a bloodbath when he knifed 33-year-old Lee Andrews in his right jugular vein.
Photos showed the horrific scene Andrews fled as he ran across the road to a YMCA reception in a forlorn bid to get help.

Career criminal Brown was seen to "nonchalantly" walk away - his hands covered in blood - as his victim was dying in the street.

Latest look inside finished apartments at 'exclusive' Tobacco Warehouse development
Developers have released new images inside finished apartments at the Tobacco Warehouse development.
The four large dressed show apartments, a development by Stanley Dock Properties, are in the Grade II listed, Victorian warehouse overlooking the waters of Stanley Dock in the city.
Stanley Dock Properties said when it was designing the apartments it "envisaged that each could provide a funky Manhattan style pad" for one of the Fab Four.
The Tobacco Warehouse show apartments feature iconic New York t-shirt photographs of John Lennon in Manhattan, which were taken in 1974 by photographer Bob Gruen.

Lurgy that lasts 'nearly a month' hits one part of Merseyside
A sickness bug that is said to last "nearly a month" has hit one part of Merseyside.
The bug appears to have symptoms similar to covid, with people suffering from a "sore throat, cough and sore eyes".
One person posted anonymously on the local Facebook page Formby Bubble: "Hi, does anybody know of any bugs going around with a sore throat, cough and sore eyes?"
Comments quickly appeared with people assuming the bug was the early signs of coronavirus, although others thought it may have been a common cold.
