An acquaintance of the family of murder suspect Luigi Mangione has spoken highly of the Mangione family, expressing shock at Luigi's arrest for the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The family acquaintance, who chose to remain anonymous, described the Mangione family as a great one, except for the alleged actions of Luigi. He mentioned that he used to give popsicles to their children but had never met Luigi personally.
Luigi Mangione is currently wanted in New York on charges that include Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree.
An extradition filing revealed that Mangione is being held without bail at The State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon following his arrest in Altoona, Pennsylvania on Monday.
Law enforcement officials stated that Mangione had provided 'written admissions' regarding the slaying of Brian Thompson, the CEO of the largest health insurance company in the United States.
Thompson tragically lost his life to a gunshot wound to the torso when an armed assailant attacked him in broad daylight in New York City. This incident sparked a six-day manhunt for the perpetrator, culminating in Mangione's apprehension in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
