Murder probe underway after man stabbed to death in Hackney

A murder investigation has been launched after a man, aged in his late 20s, died from stab wounds in east London on Friday evening.

Metropolitan Police were called to a residential home on Mare Street in Hackney just after 11pm following reports that a man had been stabbed.

“Officers, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended,” the force said in a statement.

“On arrival, officers found a man aged in his late 20s with stab wounds. Despite treatment he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

Two men, one aged in his 40s and the other aged in his 50s, and one woman aged in her 50s have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They were taken to east London police stations where they remain for questioning.

The Met said an “urgent investigation” is underway and enquiries are ongoing.

Work is ongoing to trace the victim’s family, police said.

It comes a day after a woman was found stabbed in the neck at a home on Hertford Road in Hackney after concerns were raised for the victim’s welfare.

A 54-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder elsewhere in the borough and taken into custody at an east London police station.

A crime scene remained in place at the address which is part of the Lockner Estate, situated between De Beauvoir and Dalston, said police.
