A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in East Kilbride.
Alexander Allan was found seriously injured at a property in Ivanhoe, in the town's Calderwood area, shortly after 7.05pm on Tuesday (February 7).
Paramedics tried to save the 43-year-old, but he sadly he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A murder investigation, led by officers from Police Scotland’s major investigation team, is ongoing.
Now investigating officers are appealing for dashcam, doorbell lor CCTV footage from the area as they try to piece together what happened.
DCI Graham McCreadie told Lanarkshire Live: “Our enquiries are ongoing and remain at an early stage.
“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or CCTV from the area which may assist."
The man's death was initially being treated as "unexplained" while police continued their enquiries earlier today.
A post mortem examination will now take place to establish the cause of death.
Lanarkshire Live told earlier how police had cordoned off a block of flats in Ivanhoe following reports of two nights of violence.
Officers were standing guard into this afternoon with police tape blocking off the rear of the property.
It is understood cops were on the scene since early yesterday morning (Wednesday) following reported disturbances on Monday and Tuesday night.
A police source confirmed: "Shortly after 7.05pm on Tuesday (February 7) a man in his 40s was found seriously injured within a property in Ivanhoe, East Kilbride.
"He was treated at the scene by paramedics but was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Enquiries, which are at an early stage, are ongoing and anyone with information which may assist officers should get in touch with police."
Anyone with information on the incident is being urged to call 101.
