Police have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a self-employed father of two was found by his former partner in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Emergency services were called to a Mount Tamborine address after midday on Thursday where they were met with a scene displaying "obvious signs of violence."
"The scene was secured and forensic services have now been examining that scene for approaching 24 hours," Inspector Chris Knight told reporters on Friday.
"His former partner went to the address, and she unfortunately was confronted with that scene and she contacted triple 0."
The 37-year-old man was found with fatal head and upper body injuries inside the Tolima Drive home.
Police say their investigations are focusing on the morning of Wednesday, June 28 to later that evening.
Insp Knight said a heavy police presence would remain in the Tamborine area throughout Friday and Saturday to door knock and find witnesses as their investigations continue.
They are appealing for public assistance in their inquiries.
"For anybody who is familiar with that address or familiar with that area and may have dashcam footage or might own private CCTV cameras at their houses or their businesses, please contact Crimestoppers and volunteer that information," Insp Knight added.
