A murder investigation is underway following the death of a young man in Fallowfield, the Manchester Evening News understands.
The male was given CPR by police officers who were flagged down on Wilmslow Road in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday). Police said he was 'seriously injured'.
Though the M.E.N understands that the young man has tragically died. This has not yet been officially confirmed by Greater Manchester Police.

The victim is believed to have suffered stab wounds, but the cause of death is yet to be established. Officers are working 'to find the person responsible'.
A huge cordon remains in place on the busy main road this morning as forensic officers carry out investigations. The road is taped off near the row of shops and takeaways outside the student accomodation Owens Park.
Parts of Cawdor Road, Furness Road and Landcross Road are also cordoned off. Two forensic tents are in place within the cordon, which is expected to be in place throughout most of the day.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Detectives appeal for information after man is seriously injured on Wilmslow Road. At around 2am today (26.10.2022), officers out on patrol were flagged down to an incident on Wilmslow Road in Manchester.
"Officers attended and established that one man had been seriously injured. They commenced CPR at the scene. An investigation is underway."
Detective Superintendent Neil Jones of Greater Manchester Police South Manchester Division said: "I know that people in Manchester will be shocked and concerned by this incident. I share this concern and assure you that there is a dedicated team of specialist officers in the area who are investigating at pace to find the person responsible.
"Local officers will be patrolling the areas and I urge anyone with information or concerns to speak to those officers who are on hand to help and support you."
A statement from a University of Manchester spokesperson said: "A serious incident in the early hours of this morning occurred opposite Owens Park on A6101 Wilmslow Road with Greater Manchester Police and other emergency services attending. The road remains closed between Moseley Road and Langley Road, with a police cordon and diversions in place.
"Bus services have been diverted around from the route, and people are being urged by Greater Manchester Police to avoid the area. Buses will instead use Dickenson Road, Birchfields Road, and Moseley Road in both directions. We will update with further information in due course."
