
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at a property in Southall, west London.
Officers from Met Police were called to Samara Drive at 10.56am on Wednesday, April 23 by London Ambulance Service, following concerns for the welfare of a man.
A man, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead at the scene.
An investigation has now been launched into the circumstances of his death, which Met Police say is being treated as suspicious.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man’s next of kin.
A 54-year-old man from Southall was arrested on suspicion of murder and preventing a lawful burial on Wednesday. He remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation and my team of experienced detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the circumstances of this death.
“I can understand that this may be concerning for the community in Southall, who can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as we begin our investigation.
