A second man has been arrested over the alleged bashing murder of an Adelaide father in the north-eastern suburbs last week.
The victim, a 62-year-old Modbury man, suffered critical head injuries on Thursday afternoon and was treated at the scene by paramedics at the scene on Victoria Drive.
He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but died on Friday.
Police allege he had been assaulted by two men on pushbikes and last week they arrested a 32-year-old Modbury North man.
He was charged with aggravated assault cause serious harm, but police last week have said they expect to upgrade that charge.
A 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested by detectives today and has since been charged with murder.
Lawyers for the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have told the Adelaide Magistrates Court that he surrendered himself to police this morning.
The accused did not apply for bail and will reappear in court later this month.
Police have said they do not believe the incident was random, and have asked anyone who can assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
