Police in Glasgow have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was found injured in a city street.

Emergency crews rushed to Duntarvie Road, in the Easterhouse area, at around 6.30pm on Thursday March 30. Images shared on social media showed a large emergency service response at an address in the street.

Officers have since confirmed that a 46-year-old man was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

They are treating the incident as attempted murder, and say they are following a "positive line of enquiry" following the horrific incident last night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Thursday, 30 March, police were called to a report of a 45-year-old man injured on Duntarvie Road, Glasgow.

"Officers attended and he was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“The police investigation is continuing into this attempted murder with officers are following a positive line of enquiry.”
