Munster and Ireland back Andrew Conway may be out of action for the remainder of this season.
Conway, 31, hasn't played since the end of last season, when he was ruled out of Ireland's summer tour of New Zealand.
The Dubliner had planned to return in the near future but had to undergo a knee procedure last week and Munster say that the experienced back three star will be rehabbing for the next three to four months.
That could rule him out for the rest of this season.
Mut Conway will return hoping to force his way back into Andy Farrell's World Cup plans, having previously been a regular in Ireland squads under the head coach.
Conway signed a new Munster contract last December that ties him to the province until 2025.
