Mums have hit out at Marks and Spencer over the retailer's description of their Mother's Day meal deal.
M&S are known for their dine in for two deal but for this Mother's Day they have launched a special meal deal that is made up of a roast beef, or vegan roast, Yorkshire puddings, sides and a dessert. All for just £20.

But others have slammed M&S for their description. On Facebook and Instagram, along with an image of the spread, they wrote: "Let Mum put her feet up and tuck into a flavour-packed Sunday lunch with our Mother’s Day Family Dine In. This serves-four feast includes a centrepiece roasting main (such as British beef or a vegan roast), three sides and a sharing dessert for only £20"
And while the offer is appealing, some mums hit out, calling the description 'outdated' and 'horrible'.
"I’m so pleased families will ‘let’ mum not cook, as if that’s the only time she has a break from the kitchen, with permission of her family." Han said
"Seriously. Are the 'mum usually does the cooking' adverts so passé. Mums are actually worth more. They work and do things more exciting than stay in the kitchen", Claire slammed the retailer.
Jen agreed: "I totally agree. “Let Mum…” is horrible. What, sorry, because Mum has no choice in the matter… someone else has to “let” her not produce a family meal, and only because it’s Mother’s Day? How about “Treat Mum to a flavour-packed Sunday lunch…”
But the generous deal has been praised by customers with many commenting on the post on social media, tagging their family with hints on just what to get them this Sunday - Mother's Day is on March 27 if you need the reminder.
Barry said: "I've just bought the deal, it looks really good value and was all presented so nicely in the chillers in store."
"Brilliant M&S lovely selection and great value", Louise said.
M&S Spokesperson said: “We think mums are heroes, we’re their biggest fans. It’s never our intention to do anything but celebrate mums and we wish all those celebrating on Sunday a very happy Mother's Day.”
