Mum who works at primary school falls in love with prisoner 1,000 miles away

A mum has told how she has struck up a steamy romance with a prison inmate who lives more than 1,000 miles away after the pair met on a prison pen pal app. Primary school employer Britnee Summers, 31, started talking to 35-year-old Michael Jameson and they instantly hit it off, and she now describes him as her 'twin-flame'.

Britnee has just come out of a ten-year marriage that didn't work out and wasn't expecting to fall in love so quickly, saying she only joined the app to pass the time. But it's not all plain sailing, as Jameson is currently serving 15 years behind bars for assisting an aggravated assault.

What do you think about Britnee and Jameson's romance? Let us know in the comments...

Britnee, from California, USA, who has a five-year-old son, said: "I was scrolling through Tik Tok when I came across this post of a woman who listed all these different penpals.

"And at the time I had been the heaviest I have ever been, with my divorce and the baby weight from my son and was looking to get fit.

"Which is why I chose Michael, because he looked fit and I know it sounds really weird, but I just kind of felt like I was drawn to him.

"So I chose him, he was in very good shape, and attractive. I think it was just kind of more like it always felt like there was more."

Britnee started talking to Michael when she came out of her ten-year marriage and was browsing the prison pen pal app she learnt about from TikTok.

She was soon matched with Jameson, a convict in Mike Durfee State Prison, a medium-security all-male prison located in South Dakota, housing approximately 1,000 felons.

She added: "My biggest problem was figuring out how to get the app to work. I downloaded and Michael knew I had added him, but I couldn’t send him a message.

"It took me three days to figure out the app, and I sent him a message and as they say the rest is history.

"After a month of us talking it became official for us, we fell for each other very fast.

"He is in prison for aiding and abetting aggravated assault and he got a fifteen-year sentence, of which he has served fourteen for now.

"He has a parole hearing coming up in May 2022 and we are hoping that that is it, he will be free and we can start our lives together."

Britnee claims that her relationship with Michael is not all that different from any other relationship dynamic.

She continued: "We want similar things in life, neither one of us had a regular childhood or a stable life and we want that with each other.

"I have a five-year-old son that knows about and likes Michael very much, and Michael has a fourteen-year-old as well whom I hope to meet one day.

"My son has not met him yet, although I did, there was a pow-wow Michael’s prison hosted that I was able to go to.

"It was very normal, we got to spend hours together, just holding hands and talking like a normal couple.

"I am not afraid for my safety or think he would ever hurt me or my son, I know and trust him.

"We have been together for ten months and we speak on the phone for four hours a day, I will be getting to meet him on Christmas eve as well."

Britnee has received a lot of mixed reactions from social media on her choice to date a felon.

"There has been a lot of disgusting, hurtful things said about me on social media about me dating Michael.

"Men especially have a lot to say about my choice to date a felon.

"But I don't let such negativity impact me or my opinion, I know what Michael and I have is real and neither one of us is going anywhere.

"A lot of people who have been in similar situations have also contacted me to say how they understand and can relate to how hard it can be.

"A long-distance relationship, with one person incarcerated, is very difficult to navigate, there has to be a strong foundation of trust and respect for each other."
