A mum who was initially told the pain and discomfort she was experience was due to her contraceptive coil now has around one year to live.
Emma Rice, 32, from Birkenhead, first started experiencing symptoms in February 2021. The 32-year-old experienced heavy bleeding from her vagina and discomfort.
At first, her GP thought that her contraceptive coil had become dislodged but it was later discovered that she had stage four terminal ovarian cancer in January 2023. Despite the mum-of-three undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the cancer spread, and Emma has now been told she had around a year to live.

Her childhood sweetheart and husband, Dava Rice, said: "The GP was convinced it was the coil. They said, 'you're too young for it to be anything else.'
"But she was so anaemic, she was passing out from blood loss and the pain. The moment the specialist looked at her cervix, she said she had never seen one that looked like that that wasn't cancer."
The ECHO previously reported how after her diagnosis, Emma and Dava decided to throw the "perfect wedding" with help from the local community. They married on April 29, this year, after local businesses donated the venue, cake, cars, DJ, and photographer for free.
Dava, from Birkenhead, added: “It was the best time of my life. My heart hasn't moved past that day - I'm still living it now.
"She finally got the day she deserved. We couldn't have done it all with Louise's help - she was incredible and we're so grateful.”
Emma, who used to manage the Claughton Village Sunbed Shop, added: "The wedding day lived up to my expectations and went beyond what I thought was possible. I felt like a princess on the day."
Posting on the ECHO's Facebook page, her sister, Sarah Jane Clarke said: "My beautiful, strong and amazing sister. If love could keep you here you'd be here forever. My biggest inspiration and has changed me as as person over these last few months.
"Let's share this [story] far and wife and let's just pray if any other woman contacts a doctor they are never fobbed off. This might not be a story if she was just listened to."
