A mother who suffered multiple miscarriages has faced horrific trolling and been branded 'selfish' for adopting a baby at the age of 49.
Kris Monsour, now 51, spent more than 10 years trying to conceive, but, after a number of failed attempts, in 2019 Kris had almost given up entirely on every having a baby.
However, after being told by medics to "accept her fate" - Kris and her husband Clay, 47, began looking into adoption - before eventually welcoming their baby daughter, Ainsley, to the family.
Ainsley, now two, was adopted in March 2020 - and after finally making their family complete, Kris, from Ohio, decided to share her journey to motherhood online.
However she was hot with a barrage of horrific comments, saying she was "selfish" for adopting a child she would die long before seeing grow up.
Kris received hundreds of nasty comments, including one who said she will be a "geriatric parent" before Ainsley graduates high school.
Another claimed the child will have to "decide on her mom and dad's nursing home" at the age of 20, reports the Daily Mail.
One ageist commentator added: "49 is too old to adopt a baby. You are halfway dead."
In response to the negativity, Kris said: "Luckily for me, I refuse to absorb toxic comments.
"I am too busy doing things that feed my soul. For many, though, words hurt. Think before you comment."
In a third video, Kris responded to a commenter who called her "selfish", saying: "Not only do you not know our story, but it's obvious that you're unfamiliar with the statistics around adoption in the United States.
"The average age of adoptive parents in the U.S. is 45. Are all adoptive parents selfish?
"My daughter is related to me, she is my cousin three times removed. Her mom, my cousin, was newly in recovery and reached out to my husband and myself when she was pregnant and asked if we would adopt her daughter."
