Mum who loves McDonald's gives one-year-old first Happy Meal - and has nugget photo shoot

A McDonald's superfan has gone all out to celebrate her daughter's first Happy Meal by hiring a photographer to capture her one-year-old's big day.

Little Mila Maclay was born into a family of fast food lovers, with her parents Elizabeth and Matthew Maclay even opting for McDonald's as their wedding meal.

So for the tot's first birthday, her family knew they had to do something special.

And after they decided it was time for Mila to enjoy her first McDonald's meal, mum Elizabeth, 32, wanted to combine the celebrations.

In a series of adorable photos, Mila can be seen holding a fry and a McNugget - as she tucks into her treat. And it looks like she is continuing the family tradition.

Elizabeth, from Boston, Massachusetts, US, said: "Mila loved McDonald's.

"She's never had fast food or nuggets before so I didn't how it was going to go, but she did not hesitate.

"She just went in. She had a fry in one hand, a nugget in the other and she loved it.

"I hope she'll be as much as a fan as me in the future. I wanted to pass the joy on."

Her parents came up with the idea for the photoshoot because they wanted to do something "unique" to mark Mila's big day.

Elizabeth explained: "I have always loved McDonald's and thought it would be really cute, instead of a cake smash, to do a little Happy Meal.

"The photographer had never done it before, she'd done a lot of cake smashes, but when I shared the idea she just thought it was adorable. She said 'we absolutely have to do this'.

"Mila absolutely loved it. When the photo shoot was over, we took the nuggets away from her and she was screaming. She loved them."

And after sharing the results to TikTok in a now-viral video, she has been flooded with praise for the "brilliant" idea.

One mum wrote: "Love this idea! Little man turns one on Saturday. Thinking I might do this."

Another parent said: "Think I'll do this in five months with my baby boy."

And fellow TikToker added: "I love it! Life is short, let the baby have a dang chicken nugget."
