Mum transforms kitchen with £1.99 Home Bargains tiles and it looks unrecognisable

A mum-of-three has revealed how she managed to transform her kitchen with some cheap buys from Home Bargains.

Savvy shopper Amy Leigh Jones, 25, wanted to revamp her kitchen without spending a fortune on a new floor.

Instead, the graphic designer bought stick-on tiles from Home Bargains, which were just £1.99 per pack of five.

Costing her just £16 in total, the new tiles completely lifted and transformed the look of her kitchen.

"I’ve recently decorated my kitchen and my flooring no longer matched the look I was going for," Amy, who shares her home renovations on Instagram, told LatestDeals.

"I roughly priced up a tile effect lino roll to be laid and it was working out around £70 to £80 for such a small space.

“Instead, I spotted lovely stick-on tiles whilst shopping at Home Bargains over the weekend. They cost £1.99 per pack of five tiles.

"I worked out I needed eight packs for a total of £16. I grabbed them and thought it was worth a shot."

Amy said the job was extremely quick and easy to do.

"The tiles are very easy to lay, I started in the centre of the room peeling the back and sticking them down, and working to the edge of the room.

"All you need is a Stanley blade and ruler to measure and trim around the corners and edges.

"I would definitely advise using some extra spray adhesive when laying to get the most out of them, the extra security will keep them down so they don’t start to lift.

"From previous experience, they are very durable and can be hoovered and gently mopped."

The DIY-mum revealed the stick-on tiles can also be used to upcycle furniture.

"I’m always on the hunt for bargains, and try to upcycle or decorate on a budget," Amy said.

"I’ve used a few different variations of self-adhesive floor tiles and planks in projects over the years.

"I have even used the tiles to upcycle a dining table which is still going strong after 18 months."

"It’s a very cheap, but effective way of transforming an area, even if it’s just a temporary fix," Amy added.

"I was very happy with the outcome - it lifted the whole kitchen and made the space feel a lot lighter."
