A mum-of-two has been stabbed to death after her ex-partner broke into her home and killed her in front of their two young children.
Luciene Luiz Camargos, 41, was stabbed over 10 times in her home in Varj o de Minas, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, on the morning of November 16.
Vilmair Nogueira, 36, fled the scene after killing his ex-partner in front of their kids.
However, the killer was found dead in a forest later the same day after appearing to take his own life.
According to the local police, the couple separated about three months ago and Luciene was living with her two young kids.
Her ex-partner, who refused to accept the end of the relationship, is suspected of scaling the wall to the property before confronting the victim in the house.
An argument quickly developed and Vilmair killed Luciene, 41, before fleeing the scene.
The severely injured mother was helped by neighbours but had already passed away by the time she arrived at the hospital.
Her body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Patos de Minas before being released to her family for burial.
On the afternoon of November 16, Vilmair's lifeless body was found in a forest close to the BR-365 highway leading to Patos de Minas.
According to the police, it is believed he killed himself shortly after fleeing the murder scene.
His body was also taken to the IML in Patos de Minas to determine his exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
Luciene's femicide was the fifth case of a man killing a woman in the Minas Gerais State regions in four days.
Over the weekend, two women were killed in Patos de Minas and are being investigated as femicides.
A third woman was killed during a fight between neighbours and has been registered as a homicide.
Meanwhile, a 64-year-old woman was shot dead by her 66-year-old ex-husband in the municipality of Frutal on November 15.
