A mum sparked debate by sharing how she packed away her Christmas decorations on December 25, because she "can't deal with clutter".
Although the Twelfth Night after Christmas, January 5, is the traditional day to take the decorations down, Bec Franklin, from Chesterfield, admitted to ridding her house of all the tinsel, baubles, glitter and fairy lights as soon as she possibly can.
It's not that she doesn't like Christmas as Bec admits she 'loves the magic' of the holiday - but she says that she hates how cluttered the house feels once it's over.
In 2020, Bec and her wife Jorden gave their home a festive makeover in November in a bid to "lift their spirits" during the pandemic , but in doing so they ended up feeling fed up with Christmas much sooner than they expected.
What do you think about Bec's take on Christmas clutter? Let us know in the comments...
Speaking to The Mirror in 2020, Bec said: "We take them down when our son is in bed on the night of Christmas.
"Not only are we fed up of them by then but I can’t deal with the mess and clutter that comes with having Christmas stuff everywhere, we’ve always done the same.
"We put them up in early November to try and lift our spirits of the past year we have had, and because my wife is Christmas crazy - but we ended up fed up quicker!
"I do love Christmas and the magical feeling you get and everything about it really, but the clutter gets to me so I’m not a fan of the decorations side!
"My wife loves them being up for so long but she’s also ready to take them down by Christmas night too."
Meanwhile, a dad has told how he was left in tears after reading the letter his young son had asked him to send to Santa.
The parent, who works as a delivery driver, had a sneaky look at the message his child had written to ensure he was passing on the correct wish list to Father Christmas, but instead found an emotional message which is leaving people "heartbroken".
The dad shared a picture of the note, which was handwritten in pencil, on Reddit and it quickly went viral with the caption: "I'm a UPS driver and I cried when I opened up our son’s letter to Santa."
It reads: "Dear Santa, I would really like to spend more time with my dad, so I would really love and appreciate it if you could help him get off work early because he is a UPS worker and people are ordering so many presents.
