A mum has shared a Poundland product that's helping to prevent mould build up at home. With families not wanting to have the central heating on as much amid the rising cost of energy, damp can quickly become a problem.
From bathrooms to wardrobes, it can soon appear in places where there is little ventilation, especially when people are hanging their laundry indoors and trying to avoid using the tumble dryer.
Mum Helen O'Brien has found a solution in the form of the 'hanging damp trap', which she said worked so well she was keen to recommend it to others.

Costing £1 from budget retailer Poundland she shared details of it in a family Facebook group, saying: "I’ve purchased a few or these from Poundland to absorb the damp from the air when I’m drying our washing inside.
"Only started using mine yesterday afternoon and already there’s a collection of water in the bottom pouch."
She told the Manchester Evening News: "If it’s dry outside I’m able to put the clothes out but the weather we’ve had of late has meant drying indoors, which takes an age if the temperatures are low.
"I have the small window locked open to help with the air flow. I’ve not seen any mould which is good."
Hundreds of people responded to her post, with many of them raving about the pouches.
One said: "I had one in my coat cupboard, it is an internal cupboard in our lounge, I was shocked to see how much moisture was in there considering it's in the middle of the house with no windows and a shut door."
"I’ve used these for years and they’re great," said another. "Surprising how much water they pull in. I have a cupboard that gets cold and hang one in there to stop damp."
One shopper said she has found the pouches even cheaper elsewhere.
"The Poundland ones can be a little more expensive, Poundstretcher do them for 69p," she said. "I use them in my wardrobe, kitchen next to the tumble dryer and my linen cupboard. Plus they are scented."
